Renovation Project To Increase Hoover Dental Office’s Operatories
HOOVER, AL – Perrigo Dental Care, a leading dental implant provider, recently launched a renovation project that includes expanding the office from six to 11 operatories.
The project, which began Jan. 4, includes updates to the upper and lower levels of Perrigo Dental Care and will involve adding new technology. Dr. Lucas Perrigo, who operates Perrigo Dental Care, said he planned the renovation for the past year and is happy to start the new year with an updated facility.
“We take pride in making our patients comfortable and using the latest technology to provide incredible dental care,” Dr. Perrigo said. “The renovations gives us the chance to serve more patients and ultimately cut down on waiting times.”
Prier Construction is overseeing the project, but Perrigo Dental Care is also partnering with Design Ergonomics and Patterson Dental. Dr. Perrigo said the project will not interrupt current patient appointments.
The renovation will allow Perrigo Dental Care to see more patients, and the additional technology will increase efficiency and patient comfort. Dr. Perrigo said he planned the renovation because of the increase in patients the practice has seen from its expanded online presence and patient referrals. When the project is complete, each of the office’s new operatories will have special dental chairs with massage and heat features.
“I am excited to provide the city of Hoover and surrounding areas, as well as my patients, with a state-of-the-art facility that can handle all their dental needs,” Dr. Perrigo said.
Dr. Perrigo has owned the comprehensive dental practice Perrigo Dental Care for more than 10 years, serving the Birmingham suburban communities of Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Helena, Pelham, Alabaster, Hewitt, Mountain Brook, Gardendale and Trussville.
Perrigo Dental Care offers preventive and family dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, sleep apnea treatment, TMJ treatment and full-mouth restoration with dental implants all under one roof. Individual services include cleanings, X-rays, dental sealants, fillings, porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns, teeth whitening treatments, bone grafting and sinus lifts, tooth extractions, gum disease treatment, Fastbraces, Invisalign and implant-supported dentures.
Dr. Perrigo moved to Birmingham, Ala., after earning his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Auburn University in 1994. For two years, Dr. Perrigo worked at a dental lab and as an orthodontic assistant while attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham and earning prerequisites for dental school. He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2002.
Following graduation, Dr. Perrigo worked for a cosmetic dental practice for one year and then another year at a denture and emergency dental clinic. In 2004, he purchased the location that is now Perrigo Dental Care from Dr. Donald Romano, who is still Dr. Perrigo’s associate.
Dr. Perrigo has studied at international live-training dental implant courses and completed continuing education courses in cosmetic dentistry and restorative dentistry. He holds memberships with the American Dental Association, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Alabama Dental Association, Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and Birmingham District Dental Society.
Dr. Romano completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1971 and then received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 1976. Dr. Romano was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society, and received the Dean’s Medal while attending the University of Alabama. Before establishing his Hoover dental practice, Dr. Romano served from 1976 to 1983 as an assistant professor of dentistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry.
