Hoover Dental Office Looks To Add New General Dentist
HOOVER, AL – Perrigo Dental Care, a family dental office that treats a wide range of dental problems, is searching for a talented general dentist to join its Hoover dental team.
Dr. Lucas Perrigo, who operates Perrigo Dental Care, is interviewing candidates for the new position and hopes to add the new dentist this summer. In addition to the new dentist, Dr. Perrigo will begin opening his doors on Fridays and Saturdays. The office is currently open Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“It has been a vision of mine to add multiple providers, increasing Perrigo Dental Care’s footprint in the community, as well as our first-class services,” Dr. Perrigo said.
Dr. Perrigo hopes to have a new, full-time dentist in the practice in July. The goal is to offer more timely appointments and possibly expand the services available at Perrigo Dental Care.
Perrigo Dental Care offers a convenient and family-oriented workplace, Dr. Perrigo said, adding that the practice recently renovated its office. Dr. Perrigo said another dentist will help the dental team get patients in the door faster.
“Patients are constantly asking us about coming in on Fridays, and we’re ready to offer our patients that service,” Dr. Perrigo said. “We have many patients who can benefit from Friday hours or scheduling their dental appointments on Saturdays.”
Dr. Perrigo has owned the comprehensive dental practice Perrigo Dental Care for more than 10 years, serving the Birmingham suburban communities of Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Helena, Pelham, Alabaster, Hewitt, Mountain Brook, Gardendale and Trussville.
Perrigo Dental Care offers preventive and family dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, sleep apnea treatment, TMJ treatment and full-mouth restoration with dental implants all under one roof. Individual services include cleanings, X-rays, dental sealants, fillings, porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns, teeth whitening treatments, bone grafting and sinus lifts, tooth extractions, gum disease treatment, Fastbraces, Invisalign and implant-supported dentures.
Dr. Perrigo moved to Birmingham, Ala., after earning his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Auburn University in 1994. For two years, Dr. Perrigo worked at a dental lab and as an orthodontic assistant while attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham and earning prerequisites for dental school. He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2002.
Following graduation, Dr. Perrigo worked for a cosmetic dental practice for one year and then another year at a denture and emergency dental clinic. In 2004, he purchased the location that is now Perrigo Dental Care from Dr. Donald Romano, who is still Dr. Perrigo’s associate.
Dr. Perrigo has studied at international live-training dental implant courses and completed continuing education courses in cosmetic dentistry and restorative dentistry. He holds memberships with the American Dental Association, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Alabama Dental Association, Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and Birmingham District Dental Society.
Dr. Romano completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1971 and then received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 1976. Dr. Romano was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society, and received the Dean’s Medal while attending the University of Alabama. Before establishing his Hoover dental practice, Dr. Romano served from 1976 to 1983 as an assistant professor of dentistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry.
