Hoover Dentist Set To Renovate Dental Office
HOOVER, AL – Dr. Lucas Perrigo, a leading Hoover cosmetic dentist, is teaming up with a local construction company to expand his office from six to 11 operatories.
Dr. Perrigo, who operates Perrigo Dental Care, has planned the renovation for several months and expects the project to be finished by the end of the year. Dr. Perrigo said the renovation comes at a time when Perrigo Dental Care is expanding in patients and services. Local company Prier Construction will oversee the project.
“The additional operatories will give us an opportunity to increase the number of patients we can treat in any given day,” Dr. Perrigo said. “The best part is that we can make sure that all of our patients will be able to schedule their appointments in a timely manner.”
The renovation is scheduled to begin in October, and the project will not interrupt the practice’s day-to-day operations. Dr. Perrigo said the expansion has been in the works for about 10 months. Along with the renovation, Dr. Perrigo plans to add more employees and expand business hours.
Dr. Perrigo has attributed much of the practice’s growth to patient referrals and his professional staff. Perrigo Dental Care recently began holding quarterly giveaways for patients who refer new patients. The practice has rewarded patients with hundreds of dollars in prizes.
“We’re excited to start this renovation and expand our office for our dedicated patients,” Dr. Perrigo said. “We feel our patients will appreciate the new look and space in the office, and we expect to increase our daily productivity.”
Dr. Perrigo has owned the comprehensive dental practice Perrigo Dental Care for more than 10 years, serving the Birmingham suburban communities of Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Helena, Pelham, Alabaster, Hewitt, Mountain Brook, Gardendale and Trussville.
Perrigo Dental Care offers preventive and family dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, sleep apnea treatment, TMJ treatment and full-mouth restoration with dental implants all under one roof. Individual services include cleanings, X-rays, dental sealants, fillings, porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns, teeth whitening treatments, bone grafting and sinus lifts, tooth extractions, gum disease treatment, Fastbraces, Invisalign and implant-supported dentures.
Dr. Perrigo moved to Birmingham, Ala., after earning his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Auburn University in 1994. For two years, Dr. Perrigo worked at a dental lab and as an orthodontic assistant while attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham and earning prerequisites for dental school. He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2002.
Following graduation, Dr. Perrigo worked for a cosmetic dental practice for one year and then another year at a denture and emergency dental clinic. In 2004, he purchased the location that is now Perrigo Dental Care from Dr. Donald Romano, who is still Dr. Perrigo’s associate.
Dr. Perrigo has studied at international live-training dental implant courses and completed continuing education courses in cosmetic dentistry and restorative dentistry. He holds memberships with the American Dental Association, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Alabama Dental Association, Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and Birmingham District Dental Society.
Dr. Romano completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1971 and then received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 1976. Dr. Romano was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society, and received the Dean’s Medal while attending the University of Alabama. Before establishing his Hoover dental practice, Dr. Romano served from 1976 to 1983 as an assistant professor of dentistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry.
