Possible Dental Emergencies
While you can call our office, if you experience these emergencies, here are a few tips on what to do:
Knocked out tooth: Put the tooth back in place and bite gently with a piece of gauze. You can also put the tooth in a small vessel and cover it with whole milk or saliva.
Toothache: Rinse with lukewarm water and floss to remove any food that may be in the teeth. Take an over-the-counter pain reliever to ease the pain.
Loose crown: Get dental cement or denture adhesive and put it in the inside of the crown. Put the crown back over your tooth and come to the office immediately.
Dental abscess: Rinse with a saltwater solution of half a teaspoon of salt in a glass of water. You should call our office immediately if you have a dental abscess, as it may lead to infection.
Broken tooth: Rinse with lukewarm water and apply a cold compress outside the mouth. Be sure to save all your tooth’s pieces in milk or saliva.
Lost dental fillings: Replace on your tooth with dental cement or sugar-free gum and get to the office immediately!
